The tubing measures 6 mm in width and is supplied in a 1.5-metre cassette. Manufactured from industrial-grade polyolefin, it features a 3:1 heat-shrink ratio. After printing, the tubing is placed over a suitable wire or cable and heated so it contracts around the cable, creating a close-fitting, professional identification sleeve.
Unlike ordinary adhesive labels, heat-shrink tubing surrounds the cable and does not rely on a label being wrapped around its exterior. This makes it particularly useful for cable identification where a secure, compact finish is required. The black-on-white print provides clear visual contrast, helping technicians and maintenance staff recognise individual wires during installation, servicing and troubleshooting.
